Awkward blogging moment, and also the liebster award again.

Published February 17, 2015 by GenYMission

So, it looks as though I had been nominated twice for the liebster award.

Sly had nominated me like a week and a half ago, and I didn’t even realize it. Sorry sly, and also thank you for the nomination

To make this moment even better, I accidentally nominated HIM when I was nominating for my other nomination (Do you follow that?)

So, since he nominated me too, I will answer his questions and nominate a few MORE bloggers for the award.

here are the rules again, which come from Sly’s post, which are slightly different than the ones I posted earlier, because there must be several different threads running around.

  1. Put the Liebster Award logo on your blog.
  2. Answer the questions given and then come up with 10 new ones to ask your nominations.
  3. Nominate other blogs, let them know you have nominated them and put a link to their blog in your post.
  4. No tag-backs.
  5. You must tell all the blogs that you have nominated them.

So here were Sly’s questions:

1. What do you like to do when you’re not working or blogging?

I don’t really have a life, but I do have a really amazing youth group I hang out with most Wednesdays and whenever we plan an event.

I read sometimes, but blogging and drawing weird little things are my only real hobbies (if you can even consider the second thing a real hobby)

2.What was the best time of your life (so far)?

Well, it wasn’t sophomore year…

It probably wasn’t middle school, I was kind of a naive air head back them (I probably still am but it was worse back then)

I don’t think it was before middle school, although I WAS slightly more popular back then

Freshman year is unlikely because I was pretty much just realizing that I had no idea what was going on.(Figure that out)

So maybe it’s now. Yeah, it is probably now. it is probably always now, because I know more now than I did in the past, which I think is more of a good thing than bad.

3. Favorite quote?

I’m thinking that if I actually had a favorite quote, I would know it. I don’t.

4. How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?

Quiet

Smart

Is it sad I don’t know the third word?

5. What is your current favorite song?

“How he loves,” by David Crowder band

6. Who is one celebrity you cannot stand?

I don’t actually know celebrities very well. So I can’t answer this.

7. Who is one celebrity you’d marry in a heartbeat?

Why would I marry someone I don’t know.

8. Favorite TV show?

Would you judge me if I said a bunch of Disney channel shows (Not Disney XD, just Disney channel)

9. Coffee or tea?

Yes!

10. What is the best part about blogging?

The people. That feels weird to say.

So, now I will nominate some MORE bloggers.

Lilypup’s Life

(re)turn

The Wandering Cat

And they will answer THESE questions:

1. Who is someone, other than your family, who has had a really big impact on your life?

2. You have one hypothetical wish, what do you use it for? (No wishing for more wishes)

3. Do you have catchphrase? Explain the story behind it. If you don’t have a catchphrase, make one up, and explain the story behind THAT.

4. What question do you NOT want to answer?

5. What is your favorite ‘favorite’ question to answer? (Favorite color, favorite food, favorite laundry detergent etc.) And what is the answer to that question?

6. what is something you can admit?

7. What is something weird about yourself?

8. How introverted or extroverted are you?

9. What fictional land would you most like to be in?

10. Are glasses cool?

So, the same questions I asked last time.

Alright, I hope you enjoyed the second Liebster post in a row…

The Liebster award!!!!!

Published February 16, 2015 by GenYMission

liesbster-2

Hello my dear readers and fellow bloggers (who also happen to be readers)

I want to express my gratitude and excitement for being nominated for the Liebster award by The Little Novice, so thank you Little Novice.

To be honest, I have no idea how to pronounce the word Liebster. Luckily, that is not one of the steps I have to take after being nominated, these are:

  1. Put the Liebster Award logo on your blog
  2. Thank and tag the blog who nominated you
  3. Answer their questions and come up with 10 new ones for your nominees
  4. Nominate 8 blogs (with less than 200 followers), let them know you’ve nominated them and link them in your post
  5. No tag-backs

So now, to answer The Little Novice’s questions, they are as follows, her statements will be bolded and Italicized and mine will not be.

(I just realized, I’m cool enough now to not have to pretend people are asking me questions like I did in my first couple posts. VICTORY IS MINE!!! HAHAAHA!!!! However, I can always do that again in the future…)

Anyway’s, let’s get down to business…

1. What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I like all kinds of things about blogging honestly, but I guess my favorite thing so far is that it connects me with people who relate to me. I like meeting new people, I just struggle a lot with initiating conversations and stuff to meet new people in the real world. I also love the fact that my blog is my creative outlet and place to share my thoughts that I struggle to express verbally ( So, I picked 2. NOW what?)

2. Who would you dedicate your blog to?

Oh this is a tough one.

I guess my Mom, because she is one of the only people in the world who knows that I am the face behind this blog and she more or less inspired me to write it.

inspired…more like:

“I started a blog, you should start one too, with wordpress”

“Okay”

and I did. End of story.

3. What is/are your biggest inspiration(s) that motivate you?

That would be the fact that I am a child of God, because without that fact, I would be absolutely nothing.

4. If you could choose to go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Why does this question always get asked? I hardly ever think about travel, but okay, if uou insist.

I would go to Disneyworld because that place is cool.

I would also go to Bunny island, or whatever it’s called in Japan, because there are hundreds of bunnies craving human affection, and I really want to be chased by bunnies.

5. If you could travel through time, which time period would you go?

I’d go get my 6 year old self, and then the 2 of us would go and get my 26 year old self and my 36 year old self and we would have a time travel party in whatever time we stopped in and my future children would see their mother as a 16 year old and a 6 year old and whoever else happened to be there.

We would of course need some cool decorations so a couple of us would go and get a couple of dinosaurs and travel through the past and get all kinds of souvenirs,  and stop a couple of decades ago to see if those so called “Record players” really did exist and pick up one of those too, all for the coolest time travel party ever.

6. Name 3 things you’ll never leave the house without.

Thing #1, clothes. The proper amount of clothes at that, and I will of course be wearing them.

Thing #2 My Pocket. I don’t know what I would do if I forgot my pocket. It’s so handy to put stuff in, like my phone,.

Which I guess I will make my 3rd thing since I live in a culture where having a cell phone is important and also if I need to call my mom, I like to use my own phone rather than worrying of someone will let me use theirs.

7. Any favourite poem or book?

My favorite book is called ROOM. Yes, the letters are actually all capitalized. I like it because it describes a harsh reality of life through the first person perspective of a 5 year old, who doesn’t even know that the world he is living in is as bad as it is. I won’t go into anymore details about it than that.

8. What do you like to do on a lazy day?

It depends on what I feel like doing, sometimes I play video games, or watch TV, the last lazy day I had I spent reading the entire day.

I’m actually having a lazy day right now, spending it blogging, and (sort of) doing homework.

9. What is your favorite saying/proverb/quote?

I guess if I had one that was my ‘favorite’ it would come immediately to mind, I guess I like “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God![a] Therefore the world does not know us,[b] because it did not know Him.” 1 John 3:1 NKJV (I really like how this version is worded as well.)

10. What piece of advice would you like to share?

This advice comes from a teenager, so it’s okay teens, you can listen:

Don’t be in such a rush to get a boyfriend/girlfriend.

being single is NOT a good enough reason to get a boyfriend/girlfriend.

Don’t get a boyfriend/girlfriend just because everyone else has one, or you have turned of age for your parents to have let you have one.

This advice is brought to you in honor of yesterday being valentines day, and later, I will be posting a post in detail regarding this advice.

Alright, so I have answered the 10 questions, and now it’s time for me to nominate 8 people, they are as follows:

1. 99+ Sly thoughts

2. Tales of a Triplet

3. Zadda Panda

4. A day in the life of a teenager

5. Aggies Amygdala

6. Masihbersambung

7. Darkness, be gone

8.Hideaway Girl

So, to ask my questions to these awesome bloggers:

So there you go, answer, nominate and DOMINATE something.

A relative audience.

Published February 5, 2015 by GenYMission

The only dream audience I had in mind when I started this blog was people I could relate to.

And, I suppose there are a lot of ways one person can relate to another.

Sure, I am a high school junior, I’ve said that all kinds of times on here. What else then?

THIS!!!

10917280_839048116167229_2991530166693958829_n

So, in my free time, one thing I like to do is look up clean funny pictures. And then I end up with things on my hard drive that really amuse me.

I laugh at the weirdest things, especially if it’s late at night and I know I should go to bed but I just can’t sleep and that’s why I’m looking things up. That’s how I end up with these pictures on my hard drive, I really don’t download these things any other time.

Lets se…what else do I have on here…

This one is interesting…

So if anyone can relate to laughing at these random types of pictures, than you are my dream audience.

I can also relate to people who don’t like stereotypes, because I’ve been planning on talking about different ways of how I feel about high school stereotypes.

And things that I observe about high school that I like, or the things that bug me.

I also really want to share things on here that are not common knowledge that I know. (Like Fibonacci numbers!!!)

I don’t even know how else to describe how you would relate to me, but there’s always something I guess.

Do you think the stars were placed so beautifully upon the dark night sky? Do you know that the earth was created by one creator and that he is God? Or even, do some things just plain confuse you? Than we can relate, and therefore you are my dream audience.

Titles and taglines

Published February 3, 2015 by GenYMission

Hello everyone, I’m actually typing today. The writing is fun to do, but it takes a while, so it’s pretty hard for longer posts.

So, anyways, the second assignment for blogging 101 is posted, asking us to come up with a title and tagline that we love.

I admit,I wasn’t sure of my title, but I think it actually does work very well, and considering it’s also the site address, I think I will leave it as it is.

It does, however, need an explanation.

I mean, what on earth does Untainted and odd have to do with high school and whatever else I’m here to blog about?

Well, it all started in January, when I was first inspired to start a blog (Okay, I wanted to make a blog before that, and tried a couple of times, but it failed.)

I knew I wanted to connect with teenagers through blogging, but there was something that just generally made me feel different from the other teenagers at my school. I guess I have always felt sort of different. Different, as in not really accepted by the general population.

I’m not booted out of anything (Usually) but somehow I just don’t seem to fit in. Why don’t I fit in?

Well, not to get to far into details, I think I may have discovered through listening to and watching people, why I don’t fit in.

  • I don’t get vulgar humor: It makes most of these people laugh, it makes me kind of uncomfortable…
  • I’m not fashion savvy: Although it’s a bit stereotypical, I do see other teenage girls making a big deal about fashion all the time… how cute their new boots are or whatever… I wear a t-shirt and jeans almost everyday, and throw a sweatshirt on top if it’s cold.
  • How is talking about your boyfriend more interesting than researching the Fibonacci sequence? This has actually happened to me before, sophomore year, I was working in a group of three other girls and we got our work done, so the other three started talking, and I think I might have listened for a little while, trying to get involved. But they were talking about their boyfriends, and I’m sure it took me about 2 minutes to realize I didn’t care. What did I do instead? I got out my laptop and continued my venture I had started earlier of learning all I could about Fibonacci numbers.
  • Boyfriends: I’ve never actually had one, but maybe that would make me popular. NO, oh wow where do I even begin…
  • I don’t do saying interesting things well: Communication is key in high school. I guess. I don’t small talk well. “So…uh…what’s your favorite…color?” When you don’t do small talk well it’s usually not a good thing for most aspects of life I hear. I’m improving in this area though… sort of.

So, I guess this still doesn’t explain my name. Untainted, covers the first one. My mind doesn’t work to think vulgarity is cool or funny, which as far as I can tell, makes me weird. Odd just sort of covers everything. all that stuff up there= odd.

And that is essentially how I got the name Untainted and Odd. I may see if I can make my tagline more interesting though.
